Decorate Your Home Using Wallpapers & Laying Tiles Of Wooden

When choosing wallpaper for the walls of our home, we strive to find the most original and delightful arrangements that are in harmony with the environment and the color scheme of the room. And we often forget to pay attention to the coatings we like. And this is fraught with the fact that our beautiful but inexpensive wallpaper, pasted just a few months ago, begins to turn yellow, fade, and fall off. To prevent this from happening, and it would not be so insulting to waste time and money “to the wind,” you should choose those wallpapers that have an established reputation, albeit in a higher price category.

Today there are many varieties of wallpaper for walls: paper, vinyl, non-woven, etc. Recently, an invention like liquid wallpaper has become more and more popular. But although they are not very common in our country, as in Europe, we continue to give preference to the rolls we are used to with the colors and patterns that we like. We already know that the paper, which was used to glue apartments in Soviet times, is short-lived, quickly loses its original appearance, and we try not to buy them. Also, the modern construction market allows the consumer to buy exactly those wallpapers that are durable and do not fade for a long time. Such properties are possessed by non-woven wallpaper, which will be discussed later.

The main material that non-woven wallpaper is made of is cellulose. It occupies approximately 80% of the total composition. These wallcoverings are produced by many companies that have many years of experience in wallpaper production and an impeccable reputation. Non-woven wallpaper made in France, Italy, Germany even belongs to the category of the elite, and they can be seen in the homes of very wealthy people in these countries. What is the advantage of these materials? First is its density. Allows you to avoid unpleasant situations when wallpapering. It is easy and fast to glue such wall materials. Again, thanks to their density, non-woven wallcoverings are durable and resistant to sunlight. That is, they will not fade.

Second, due to their constituent components, these wallpapers allow walls to “breathe,” that is, they have the ability to let air through, so there will be no feeling of “emptiness” in the room or room, such as this is the case when cheap synthetic wallpaper is used. It should be noted that there are also wallpapers as non-woven with a vinyl coating. Therefore, they can no longer be considered breathable, as pure nonwovens, as the vinyl top layer is synthetic and therefore blocks access to air. With the help of non-woven wallpaper, you can easily mask some wall defects such as irregularities or small cracks.

You can paint some wallpapers yourself. This applies to those who like to experiment with their home design and bring their wall decoration ideas and fantasies to life. Non-woven wallpaper provides such an opportunity. It should only be noted that the shade of the paint may differ slightly from the original on the packaging. This is influenced by the lighting in the room and the uniformity of its walls, and the quality of both the wall coverings and the paint. An important difference between non-woven wallpaper and paper wallpaper is that their width is almost double. But despite this, it is easy and fast to glue them. Such wallpapers will delight you for a long time with their appearance and will not bring an unpleasant and unexpected surprise in the form of bubbles or loose seams. Non-woven wallpaper is cared for with a dry cloth or vacuum cleaner.

  • Laying Tiles Of Wooden

Recently, among European countries, inexpensive but very high-quality ceramic products from the polish tiles have been in great demand. This article describes recommendations for surface preparation and installation of porcelain stoneware from the Woodentic collection, but many of the advice will apply to other porcelain stoneware series from this manufacturer. The Wooden ceramic tile collection was inspired by the look of a traditional wooden floor. The tiles are produced at the factory in two sizes, 65.5×16 cm, and in one of the largest formats in the entire Polish porcelain stoneware market, 98.5×21.5 cm.

The Wooden porcelain stoneware series quite accurately mimics oak planks, naturally reproducing the texture, color, and shine of the wood. The collection is available in three colors: natural oak color – beige, rustic type with a pronounced ocher color, and brown. And the elongated rectangular plates further enhance the natural look of the floor. Wooden is a so-called “laminated” collection of ceramic wall tiles for a laminate; that is, the format of the elements resembles a standard laminate. The tiles are perfect for laying where traditional material flooring is unacceptable due to high traffic and rapid abrasion: in hallways, kitchens, public places such as restaurants or hotels, etc. A great advantage is the ability of the Woodentic line to be used in conjunction with a warm floor. In this regard, the performance properties of Woodentic ceramic tiles significantly exceed natural wood and laminate.

Due to their dimensions, especially in the 1200 x 1200 mm format, the tiles from the Woodentic collection are easy to install; it is only necessary to have certain skills and to follow the manufacturer’s technical recommendations. To cover with Woodentic porcelain stoneware tiles, follow the instructions below.

  • Preparation For The Installation Process

This work should begin with a careful evaluation of the packaging and the markings on it. All boxes in the batch must have the same tone and date of manufacture. Another very important step is to prepare the surface for placement. It should start with a thorough cleaning. This is to check the floor level and potential for moisture. The next step is to prepare the surface. After surface treatment with liquid primer, wait at least 12 hours. If the surface on which you intend to lay the tiles is uneven, use self-leveling mortar.

  • Tile Laying

The ceramic tile laying process should begin with the design and determination of the axis for laying the tiles. This is done on dry ground and avoids errors in the actual assembly. As good as the tile is, it still has a subtle curve, which can be especially evident when the product is long and narrow.

To compensate for deviations that may arise during operation, the tiles must be laid with a maximum offset of 1/3 of the adjacent elements. This will ensure a smooth and even floor surface as if we were installing laminate flooring. The mortar layer should be about 5mm thick. The next day, after the solution has hardened, remove the crosses and clean the surface of dirt and dust with a damp sponge. The joints can be cleaned with a vacuum cleaner.

  • Filling The Tiles

For large-format tiles from the Woodentic collection, the space between the elements must be greater than 2 mm. The prepared grout should be applied with a plastic spatula and a sponge. Surface cleaning is done in 2-3 stages. After the initial cleaning of the mortar along with the ceramic tile, repeat the procedure with a damp sponge diagonally. This should be done no earlier than 30 minutes after applying the grout. Complete cleaning at 12 hours.

By following the exact modeling and installation rules described above for the Woodentic collection, you will get a perfect imitation of a wooden floor tiles while complementing it with the high-quality performance characteristics of porcelain stoneware.
